This is Gardner's Crescent in Edinburgh, quite near our flat. The grass and trees are a recent addition, and the way they've planted the trees is really reminiscent of the life cycle of a tree - reading it left to right, the trees get bigger and bigger and some are full and green whilst others are sparse. Rather like life itself I suppose. I'm a big fan of the
(particularly Great Expectations by Charles Dickens) and of coming-of-age films like Stand By Me, so i suppose it's only appropriate these trees always make me smile when I pass them. I wonder if the gardeners did it deliberately. I hope so.
